Nigerian music has slowly been dominating the airwaves on most of the media stations, something that has left Ugandan musicians worried about their future. It is undeniable that even when it comes to the fan base, Nigerians have a very big fan base here in Uganda. Looking at artistes like Burna boy, wizkid, Kizz Daniel, tiwa Savage, Davido,Rugger and many more, it is evident that Nigerian music has taken a toll on Ugandan musicians.

A total of over 10 musicians from Nigeria have turned up in Uganda and staged successful shows in this year alone and others are yet planning to show up, something that is affecting Ugandan music and the local talents.

Uganda Musician Association (UMA) Committee however, led by incumbent President, Cindy Sanyu met the Constitutional Minister, Norbert Mao to address some of the challenges faced by the music industry recently.

One of the topics tackled was the prominence of foreign music that has suffocated the local talent endlessly. According to sources, some of the small solutions that the meeting has been able to give birth to is Regulating the inflow of foreign musicians into Uganda, which has been tabled.

This proposed solution is yet to be put into action but it is in the pipeline and is still undergoing discussion and observation
