Singer Winnie Nwagi is not the happiest artiste today following the unfortunate cancellation of the much anticipated Celebrating Africa event she was set to headline. Having looked forward to the event, nwagi was highly disappointed when she discovered it was not going to happen for her.

Nwagi was to share a stage with Vegedream (Ivory Coast), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Sarkodie (Ghana), Lojay (Nigeria) at the OVO Wembley Arena, UK, this Friday, October 21, 2022.

According to the organizers, they have put off the event because of the rising cost of living in the UK that has disabled them from putting up a spectacular show with great production.

In a statement, the organizers wrote, it was mentioned that tickets had turned out to be quite expensive for the revelers and yet for the show to be as incredible as they had imagined it, they had to raise the price a little inorder to have the best concert.

We want to be able to put on an outstanding event and an elaborate show without compromising but also factoring affordable ticket prices to break even during this time of the year when many events are struggling with low ticket sales, we aim to partner with local organisers & return in the New Year to present an historic London extravaganza and the show of a lifetime we planned without compromising our integrity and budget

Those that had bought tickets are to be refunded. The celebrating Africa event highlights the rich culture and success of African music. Nwagi wrote on her Instagram that a new date and location will be communicated once everything is well settled and taken care of. This comes over a month after she filled up Lugogo Cricket Oval in what was her maiden concert dubbed Fire concert.
