
Police have recovered human remains in a shrine in Kampala, something that has left citizens shaken and scared for their lives. It is reported that on the 3rd of February, Police carried out an operation in Kazinga, Masajja Parish in Makindye and upon raid, three human skulls were discovered in the shrine of a named Jaaja John , a 50 year old witch doctor.
According to the Deputy Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire, the remains are suspected to be human remains but the blood is suspected to be either human blood or blood from an animal which is yet to be identified.
“The territorial Police at Katwe carried out an intelligence-led operation on 3rd February, 2023 in Kazinga Masajja Kibira B village, Masajja Parish in Makindye Sabagabo, Kampala and recovered suspected human remains,” said Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire on Monday morning.
The human remains comprised three skulls and a bottle of suspected human or animal blood. Owoyesigire said the operation was a result of the crime intelligence team which received information that the suspect has been engaging in shady and suspicious activities in the area.
Cases of witchcraft and human sacrifice are common among witchdoctors in the central region especially in Mukono and Wakiso districts. Police intelligence teams submitted all exhibits to the forensic laboratories for analysis, while the suspect is currently detained at Katwe Police station as investigations into the matter continue.
