In high school, Kent and Flosso wrote a song for Bebe Cool called “Sweet Banana.” The song is part of Bebe Cool’s ‘Go Mama’ album, featuring Chizzo Lubega.
Lubega, a friend of the duo, connected them to Bebe Cool, but their first meeting at the studio didn’t go well, as Bebe Cool unknowingly kicked them out, mistaking them for intruders.
In an interview with Mr. Henrie on Galaxy TV, the duo revealed that they didn’t join Gagamel because Bebe Cool and Chizzo declined to sign them.
They wanted to grow independently and take their time to succeed. Both Bebe Cool and Chizzo are now seen as mentors by Kent and Flosso. Bebe Cool tracks their progress and offers advice, while Chizzo, a producer, is based in the U.K. and remains a friend of Bebe Cool.
As for their background, Kent is from Fort Portal, and Flosso, whose real name is Michael Mungu, hails from Nebbi district.
They met in 2008 during S.3, initially thinking they attended different schools. Connected by mutual friends, producer Vad encouraged them to start singing together, leading to their partnership in 2009.
They signed with Sound Prints in 2015, rebranded as Voltage Music, and released their first song, “Blanket,” in 2009. Since then, they’ve produced numerous hit songs and collaborated with artists both in and outside Uganda.
