Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, professionally known as Blaqbonez, captivated the audience at the Jameson Hangout 2023 finale last Saturday evening at Ndere Centre, leaving fans eagerly craving more.

The 27-year-old artist, making his debut appearance in the pearl of Africa, sported a stylish ensemble consisting of a white shirt, black shorts, and a casual jacket. The crowd erupted in loud cheers, expressing their anticipation for the performance.

Despite initial uncertainties about Ugandan reception, Blaqbonez was bolstered by the enthusiastic crowd, allowing him to deliver a confident and electrifying performance. His song choices, including hits like ‘Like Ice Spice,’ ‘Wo Wo,’ ‘Cinderella Girl,’ and ‘Breaking the Yoke of Love,’ resonated with the audience, prompting them to sing along, dance, and shower him with cheers. The overall vibe of his performance can be aptly described as energetic and thoroughly entertaining.

While Blaqbonez took center stage, he was not the sole highlight of the chilly evening. Lilian Mbabazi, formerly of Blu *3, took the audience on a nostalgic journey, showcasing her musical evolution from her days in the group to her solo career.

The event, organized by Talen Africa, featured earlier performances by Adrenalyn Music and Mike Mungu. A lineup of skilled DJs, including Alza, Hady, Heydez, Tony, and Adele Kiele, kept the energy alive throughout the day.
