As Miss Tourism Uganda gears up for its grand finale on September 14 at the Kampala Serena Hotel, the competition is gaining momentum through its regional selections.

Over the weekend, the pageant visited Karamoja to select its representatives. The event began with contestants showcasing their traditional dresses, followed by a question-and-answer session with the judges that tested the contestants’ knowledge of their country and its tourism.

The event concluded in the early hours of the morning, with Akidi Rachel, 25, being crowned Miss Tourism Karamoja. Natyang Anastasia, 23, was named the first runner-up, and Lokeris Jacinta, 20, secured the second runner-up position.

So far, the competition has covered eight regions: Buganda, Teso, West Nile, Ankole, Tooro, Rwenzori, Northern, and Eastern. This weekend, the pageant will continue in Bunyoro.
