The Kampala High Court has annulled the election of Luyimbazi Elias Nalukoola as the Member of Parliament for Kawempe Division North.

Justice Bernard Namanya ruled the seat vacant and told the Electoral Commission to hold a new vote in the area.

The court heard a petition from Nambi, who said Nalukoola campaigned on polling day at spots like Mbogo Primary School Playground. She said he spoke to voters, chanted slogans, and tried to sway votes in his favour.

Nambi also accused the Electoral Commission of failing to protect voting centres, count votes properly, secure ballot materials, and share results openly.

She said these failures by the Commission stopped many people, including her, from voting freely.

She added that Nalukoola and his team gave money and goods such as bread, salt, soap, and tea to voters. Among those who got items were Mary Diana Kibuka, George William Mawumbe, and Geoffrey Wamukubira.

The court agreed with Nambi’s claims and ordered a fresh election for the constituency.
