Biography:
Victor Kamenyo born Katongole Derrick is a singer, songwriter and a once political aspirant. He was born in Kampala, Uganda. His music genre specialty Dancehall, Afrobeat, Afropop and he is also a rapper.
Victor started his music career in 2012 with a song ‘Agawalagana' which brought him to Uganda’s music scene. He is well known for his many songs like Nduulu Silina Malala, Baveeko ft. David Lutalo, Lagako, Baligabana and so many more
Victor Kamenyo recently graduated from Makerere University with a degree in law. It should be noted that Kamenyo’s education has been in the spotlight with very many questioning his seriousness with education. Even when he mentions that us studied. Many did not believe him.
He has a number of music associates like David Lutalo, Swahaba Kasumba, Ivo Dancer to mention but a few. . Victor Kamenyo has won a number of awards including Hipipo Best hiphop, Best Rapper Hi Skool Awards, Best new entry Viga Award.
Victor is not only a musician but also a politician. Recently, he was on the news for contesting as an MP for Rubaga North under the National Unity Platform umbrella. He however had a fall out with the party leader, Kyagulanyi Ssentamu famously known as Bobi Wine, saying he was betrayed by NUP.
Rapper Victor Kamenyo was in a relationship with long term girlfriend Ruth Akoragye. She however allegedly caught him cheating with evidence from his own phone, something that led to their separation. Only a few weeks later however, they were seen having fun together after a reconciliation.
