He attended Uganda Christian University in Mukono after finishing high school, where he acquired a Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2019.

According to Dre Cali, It was back in 2010 when he was in Form 3 that he first picked up a mic. It all begun way back when he was living in kitende at his grand mother’s place and next to it was a music studio called Sous studio so he decided to visit it and as they say, the rest is history. He however mentioned that his first time in the studio was horrible, he was very shy and couldn’t interact with the people he had found there. Also listening to his recorded voice sounded so weird at first that he almost gave up on singing.

Despite his desire to become a football player, he found himself making music in 2015. He secured a recording deal with the Mpaka Record company shortly after beginning his career.

He gained his fame in the industry  in 2019 after the release of his debut track, “Zigi Zaga,”.  Since then, he’s had a string of successful songs, including “Onanagiza” featuring Lydia Jazmine, “Ebisooka n’ebisembayo”, “Efikuba”, “Singa Omanyi” starring Weasel Manizo, and “Akayimba” with Myko Ouma.

Dre had  always wanted to flee the country and settle in Canada, and when the opportunity presented itself when he got a gig to perform there, the singer started on the plans of escaping from Mpaka Records. He is currently settled in Canada
