Biography:
Allan Toniks born Allan Ampaire is a Ugandan singer, songwriter, guitarist and record producer. Toniks was born in Mbarara to Dr Berinda Edward and Mrs Berinda Josephine. He went to Mbarara Preparatory School for primary, then joined King's College Budo for O Level and Ntare School for A Level before joining Makerere University Business School where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in International Business Studies in 2011.
Toniks started singing and writing songs early while in school but considered a career in music seriously while at University where he recorded his first hit single Beera nange. He is also a guitarist who started learning the instrument when he was only four years old. He also became popular for his Production talents as he also sometimes produces his own music under his record label Vibrations.
Toniks’ fame reached a high peak when he participated in, and won the 2015 Airtel Trace Music Star Competition, the Celebrity Edition.
He has also worked and shared stages with several local and international artistes including the Goodlyfe Crew, P Square from Nigeria, General Ozzy from Zambia, Proff from Kenya, Petersen Zagaze from Zambia, Beenie Man, Genista, from Jamaica, Sean Kingston, Jidenna, Sean Paul, as well as Flavour N'abania of Nigeria.
As per his achievements, he has also been nominated and won several awards. In 2008, he was nominated for various awards as listed below but managed to bag only of them. When 2009 came, he still was nominated but he never took the award home. He started winning multiple awards in the year 2011 and has never looked back since then.
