The Minister for Finance Planning and Economic Development Hon Matia Kasaija has followed suit with the Presidential directive and returned the controversial Iron sheets that were meant for the Karamoja region.
Minister Kasaija is among the top Ministers who allegedly received 300 pre-painted Iron sheets in February this year meant for the Karamoja region under the office of the prime Minister.
Hon Kasaija delivered the 298 Iron sheets yesterday while the 2 pieces were rejected as they got damaged during transportation back to Namanve OPM stores.
But the team from the Minister’s office led by Jamil Tumusiime his Communications Manager promised to deliver the 2 Iron sheets by tomorrow since they have to be produced on order from the Factory.
A team of Police detectives and officials from the Office of Prime Minister led by Senior Administrator Kayongo at Namanve inspected and verified the Iron sheets and found true of those that were sent to Minister Kasaija.
Minister Kasaija is on record for saying that he did not ask for the Iron Sheets but he found them in his compound in Kibale District.
